MINISTRIES

Christ calls us to care for one another and serve those in need. We seek to do so through these ministries of care and compassion:

Blessing Bags. On the first Sunday of every month we fill bags with snacks and other items that we hope will be a small blessing to those experiencing homelessness or otherwise struggling. We provide them to the drop-in center of Mental Health Partnerships and to people on the street. We encourage donations of non-perishable food items such as granola bars, pretzels, fruit snacks, raisins, chips, crackers, small water bottles and non-food items like small tubes of toothpaste, toothbrushes, small soft packs of Kleenex, chap-stick, and Vaseline lotion.

Elder Diner. We welcome seniors from the church and community (55 and over) to a home-cooked meal and joyous fellowship. We meet the first and third Tuesdays of every month, beginning at noon in the church parlor.  If you would like to learn more, please call or email Lucas McLean at lucas@summitpres.net or 215-438-2825.  All welcome!

Germantown Avenue Crisis Ministry. We support this ministry of neighbors helping neighbors on W Chelten Avenue through donations of food and volunteering. We receive donations of food (non-perishables) the first of every month in worship, and also support holiday drives and projects. Learn more about GACM.
