WHAT TO EXPECT

When you walk in at 10:00 a.m on Sunday morning, you’ll be welcomed by an usher and given a bulletin to help you follow the service. You’ll see a “traditional” sanctuary with rows of pews and stained glass windows. At the front you’ll notice a table for serving communion, a lectern for reading scripture, a pulpit for preaching, and an organ and choir loft.  Although the sanctuary is formal, we hope our welcome is warm.  Please sit wherever you wish and dress in what is comfortable for you.

We begin with a song of praise.  We then confess our sins, hear the assurance of forgiveness, say what we believe and pass the peace of Christ with one another (that can take a while!)  Scriptures are read, the choir offers an anthem, and gifts and tithes are received.  A children’s sermon follows with an invitation to Sunday school. We share joys and concerns and lift them in prayer.  A scripture-based sermon helps us to connect our life with our faith.  We end with a hymn to send us out in joy and service.  Afterwards, we enjoy coffee and fellowship in the gym.

We have an all-volunteer choir that sings most Sundays and a handbell choir that plays regularly. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of every month.
